Natural Conception
The primary purpose of this work is to assist couples who are struggling with unexplained infertility and do not wish to utilize artificial or invasive procedures.
Aside from my practice as a Certified Hypnotherapist, specializing in Natural Fertility, I am ordained in the Reformed Catholic which draws its apostolic succession from the “Old Catholic Church of Utrecht.” While I respect scientific and medical advances in fertility, I feel that artificial means of conception are not the best option.
The results of HypnoFertility speak for themselves.
Children are a wonderful gift. The pain of not being able to bear a child can be devastating, placing undue stress on any couple. My desire to help couples conceive naturally is driven in part by the beauty of creation and human life.
The Church and Hypnosis… A History
A decree of the Sacred Congregation of the Holy Office on July 28, 1847 stated in part that, “the use of animal magnetism (the earliest form of hypnosis) is indeed merely an act making use of physical media that are otherwise licit and hence it is not morally forbidden, provided that it does not tend toward an illicit end or toward anything depraved.”
Pope Pius XII is credited as giving the official nod to hypnosis from the Catholic Church. He stated in comments before an audience of obstetricians and gynecologists on January 8th, 1956 that he believed the judgment of the morality of hypnosis would ultimately be based on sound medical opinion.
The following text cited is from It’s Conceivable by Lynsi Eastburn.
"The goal of this program is not simply for the client to become pregnant, but rather is to enable your client to attain personal empowerment. For only by doing so will she truly be able to let nature take its course. Through personal empowerment comes inner peace, the ability to accept, appreciate, and embrace life.
A very real concern for a lot of people is the inability to conceive a baby. Each year, more than a million North Americans pursue treatment for infertility, while the BBC has stated that the latest UK figures show a 6% rise in the number of women having IVF since 2004. Many people choose to pursue natural assistance, but most consult conventional doctors for an infertility workup and—depending on diagnosis—drugs or high-tech procedures such as IVF are recommended. Particularly disturbing is the increase in donor egg recommendation, often occurring before the patient has even digested the diagnosis.
Since the 1980s—as a result of a vast amount of research into how conception occurs and what can prevent or interfere with it—great strides have been made in Assisted Reproductive Technology “ART.” A range of options are available including Gamete Intrafallopian Transfer “GIFT” Zygote Intrafallopian Transfer “ZIFT” Egg Donation, Gestational Carriers, Intrauterine Insemination “IUI,” Invitro Fertilization “IVF,” and Surrogate Pregnancy.
Despite the progress that has been made in the treatment of “infertility” the success rate for those who undergo high-tech procedures appears to be about 20%. To boost this success rate and have the very best chance of conception, women are seeking out complementary treatments such as Acupuncture, Herbal Remedies, Homeopathic Medicine, Chiropractic, and Mind/Body Approaches. One of the most powerful of these is Hypnotherapy. Hypnosis goes beyond simple guided imagery and working with a skilled Certified Hypnotherapist—following the guidelines of this program—not only increases the odds of conception but also enhances overall health."
Some Documented Studies: Results Are Staggering
Studies have indicated that "infertile" women utilizing mind/body techniques have a 42 - 55% conception rate as compared to 20% for those not following this protocol. (page 11)
A 1992 study found that women who participated in mind/body therapy experienced a 34% conception rate as compared to 20% with Invitro Fertilization alone. Decreased levels of depression, anxiety, and anger were also noted.
A 1990 study in Obstetrics and Gynecology showed women with severe PMS have a 57% reduction in physical and psychological symptoms.
Women utilizing hypnotherapeutic techniques in labor tend to require fewer unnecessary interventions. Results of a 1993 study published in the Journal of Women's Health showed that women in the hypnosis group used significantly fewer epidurals and required fewer episiotomies than the control group.
